Te Huinga was established as a platform to advance Hapū well-being within the Whangārei District, Te Huinga serves as a vital link between Hapū communities and the Whangārei District Council and other agencies of the Crown. In November 2023, the Te Huinga website was launched during the Māori Wellbeing Fund Information Hui, providing comprehensive information about our organization and its purpose.

Currently, a $4 million fund is available to enhance and uplift the well-being of Māori residing within the Whangārei District. We actively encourage all Marae to apply for funding to support the construction and maintenance of our Te Waiariki Marae. For more details, please visit: www.tehuinga.org.nz/funding
