NGĀ HOE O TE WAKA

Roles and responsibilities
Ngā Kai-hoe O Te Waka, are the workforce of the waka. They have an essential role as they work for and on behalf of their whānau and Hapū to ensure their survival and well-being.
The kai-hoe has a leadership role, where they are responsible for and oversee each portfolio. Their part is to bring vitality and energy to the waka, weather on the water or in a metaphorical sense of navigating the work across the trust.
This requires a deep understanding of the work associated with each hoe portfolio and the resources available to enable this work to be undertaken.
